About Us

Rekindle is a residential developer with a mission to bring multigenerational living back into the U.S. mainstream. We are creating university-integrated communities (UICs)* where people of all ages live on campus and enjoy access to classes, libraries, dining, athletics, and the arts. Homes are arranged in small clusters around shared spaces, forming a village-like environment that encourages mutual support and a strong sense of belonging. Our communities feature proactive wellness, lifelong learning, and intergenerational engagement as core elements of everyday life.

Our first project is taking shape on the US East Coast. While future communities will be designed to suit local context and prospective residents, all of our communities are intended to:

  • Combat loneliness, stress, and anxiety
  • Make childcare and eldercare more organic and affordable
  • Allow seniors to age gracefully in place
  • Create shared economies where multiple families can pool resources
  • Give people across all generations a sense of purpose and belonging

*The term UIC was coined by Rekindle advisor Zehra Abid-Wood, President of Lasell Village at Lasell University.
